Ausable River Trout Fishing
The Ausable River in the Lake Placid Region is famous for both it’s
natural beauty and it’s trout fishing. It features a five-mile no-kill section
with many large, wild trout and offers a complete range of fishing
conditions including slow pools, riffles, water falls and plentiful pocket
water. The novice angler will find eager trout in the rifles and the more
experienced fishers can cast dry flies to trout rising in the slow pools.
The Beginners Package includes a full day of instruction and guiding
with a 5wt rod, loaded vest and hip boots.

Wild Brook Trout Pond Fishing
The wilderness areas of the Adirondacks are peppered with glacial
ponds holding populations of wild brook trout. The most productive of
these are generally at least a mile from the nearest road. The trout
there are aggressive and opportunistic and may be taken by a variety
of methods. Trolling streamers with sinking lines is most effective,
though nymphs and dry flies can also produce trout in different
conditions.

Learn to Fly Fish the Easy Way
Unfortunately chances are you're taking your Adirondack vacation in the
middle of the summer when the trout fishing is poor. No problem.
Learn to fly fish the easy way. Have a ball casting small poppers and
bugs for bass and panfish and learn the basics of casting and tackle in
time for cooler temperatures, and the return of good trout fishing in the
fall.

Beginning Fly Fisher Package
If you're ready to take the leap, here's a convenient way to do it. Get a
full days guided instruction and all of the tackle you need to set out on
your own. Tackle includes a loaded fly vest (flies, leaders, tippet,
clippers, etc), 5wt fly rod, net & boots.
Complete Package - $550
Early/Late Season Salmon Fishing
Spring and fall in the Adirondack's draw Salmon into rivers and
streams to feed or spawn. This can be a great time to chase these
trophies though generally a little higher skill level is involved. For
spawning Salmon in the fall we fish the river-mouths at first light. In the
spring, feeding Salmon strike streamers, nymphs and attractor flies.

Camping & Fishing, Native Brook Trout
The Whitney Preserve, found a few miles NW of Long Lake contains
the states primary sustaining population of native brook trout, the Little
Tupper Strain. Little Tupper Lake, Rock Pond and Bum Pond are
home to Brookies known to tip the scales at over 6 lbs. They will chase
streamers and even dry flies properly presented. This is an overnight,
fishing and camping trip that defines the quintessential Adirondack
fishing experience.
